My Top 8 Romantic Gestures

September 3, 2019

Sometimes it’s nice to show the one we love how we feel about them. It doesn’t have to be expensive, it just has to be heartfelt. Sometimes romantic gestures can go a long way to make your partner's day.

It doesn’t matter if you’re dating, engaged or have been married for years. It always pays to let your partner know you’re thinking of them.

So, what are my top 8 romantic gestures?

1 Hold hands.

Sounds simple, but if you’ve been married for a few years, think about the last time you held your partners hand. It doesn’t have to be for long. Just crossing the street. Or while you’re watching a movie. It’s a tactile way to let your partner know you’re thinking of them.

2 Dessert.

Make or buy your partners favourite dessert. Surprise them. It shows you’ve paid attention to a special treat they like. Double points if you eat it together on the couch while watching Netflix.

3 Chores.

I’m sure all the women reading this will agree. There’s nothing sexier than a partner who knows how to empty the dishwasher. Double points if you empty it, and then find any dirty dishes around the house and fill it again.

4 Message them.

Out of nowhere, send a cute photo or a simple message to ask how their day is going. It shows that even though you’re busy, they’re still on your mind. There’s nothing nicer than someone saying hi just because.

5 Give them the TV remote.

It’s nice to sit on the couch and watch TV together. Giving your partner the choice of television show and then watching it with them will make them feel special – and you’ll also feel good about yourself for doing something they enjoy.

6 Make a date night.

How many times have you said to your partner – we should go out on a date night – and nothing happens. Well, make it happen. Surprise them. It lets them know they’re important enough to spend time planning a night out and want to spend it with them.

7 Communicate.

Tell your partner what you like about them. Compliment them regularly and sincerely. Tell them without expecting any return compliments. Think about how good you feel when someone pays you a compliment and help them feel the same way.

8 Tell them.

And finally – this shouldn’t come as a surprise – tell them you love them. You say it daily. Say it all the time. There’s no limit on this one. Although your partner knows you love them, you also have to tell them. All the time.

Love doesn’t have to be complicated or hard. It’s actually quite simple. It’s the little things that do count. Don’t just think about it – you also need to act on it.
